Emily Dickinson, 506

Ljocht is tarikkend foar himsels -
Wolle Oaren sjen, it wurdt
Beskikber steld op Finsterglês
Oerdeis in Oere as wat.

Lykwols, it stelt net skealeas -
De Gloede dy’t it hat
Is foar in Himalaja-Mûs
En dy krekt like grut.

Light is sufficient to itself -
If Others want to see
It can be had on Window Panes
Some Hours in the Day.

But not for compensation -
It holds as large a Glow
To Squirrel in the Himmaleh
Precisely, as to you.
