Emily Dickinson, 1263

Sis hiel de wierheid - sydlingswei -
Mei Omhaal treft men Doel
Te hel hoe’t sy oerrompelet
Us wankel goed Gefoel
Sa’t Wjerljocht útlein mei geduld
Gjin skrik mear jout oan Bern
Moat Wierheid sparkje mei ferdrach
Oars rekket elkien blyn -

Tell all the truth but tell it slant -
Success in Circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth’s superb surprise
As Lightning to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind -
