\n    Goed blaze wie de wyn nea leard.
\nBy dei en nacht, yn \u2019t r\u00fbchste oard,
\n    Hie hy op \u2019t l\u00fbdste blaasd en beard.<\/p>\n

De minske sei: dochst it ferkeard,
\n    Moatst blaze fan in gaadlik plak;
\nIt doel is sang \u2013 do blaast forseard.
\n    Hear my \u2013 sa joust it syn gerak!<\/p>\n

Hy naam in m\u00fblfol, net in boel,
\n    En hold dat sa lang binnenyn
\nDat noard yn s\u00fad feroarje koe,
\n    Blies doe mei mjitte \u00fat wat wyn.<\/p>\n

Mei mjitte. It wie wurd en toan,
\n    Wyn sa\u2019t de wyn graach w\u00eaze woe \u2013
\nL\u00e2ns kiel en lippen, sunichoan.
\n    De wyn begriep: sang wie it doel.<\/p>\n

The Aim Was Song<\/em><\/big><\/p>\n

Before man came to blow it right
\n    The wind once blew itself untaught,
\nAnd did its loudest day and night
\n    In any rough place where it caught.<\/p>\n

Man came to tell it what was wrong:
\n    It hadn\u2019t found the place to blow;
\nIt blew too hard\u2014the aim was song.
\n    And listen\u2014how it ought to go!<\/p>\n

He took a little in his mouth,
\n    And held it long enough for north
\nTo be converted into south,
\n    And then by measure blew it forth.<\/p>\n

By measure. It was word and note,
\n    The wind the wind had meant to be\u2014
\nA little through the lips and throat.
\n    The aim was song\u2014the wind could see.<\/p>\n
